Dear Friends, Family and Other Contributors:
We would first like to begin by once again thanking you for your generous donations and for all your kind thoughts, pictures, letters, videos and memories you have shared about Brandon. They mean the world to us and go a long way toward helping us get through this nightmare.
As previously noted, our mission is to honor Brandon and help others who suffer from the same illness. Accordingly, we are focused on depression, mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
Over the past two months, we have been researching potential charities in those areas. We have reviewed organizations of various sizes, from huge to small, and different scopes (from national to local). We plan on making a series of donations over time as we dig deeper and identify additional worthy causes.
We are pleased to announce our first series of contributions. We have selected the following three causes:
1) American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
Founded in 1987, it has become one of the largest suicide-focused
programs in the country
AFSP is dedicated to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide
It gives those affected by suicide a nationwide community empowered by research, education and advocacy to take action against this leading cause of death

2) The Yellow Tulip Project
A medium-sized charity seeking to smash the stigma associated with mental illness and build a community that can remind people that there is help and hope

3) The Overwhelmed Brain
This blog and podcast is for those who want to better their lives by questioning what doesn’t work and changing behavior that doesn’t serve them anymore
For those who desire a more emotionally stable, happier life, The Overwhelmed Brain will help to empower them to forge a path to that destination.
